Fake Apple Stores in China!

Before being hypnotized by the price of electronics in China, think twice. They are famous for their grade 'AAA' counterfeit items.

Now there been fake Apple stores spotted in China.  But judging from the appearance of the store, it is very close to the real thing. The store even manage to deceive their own staff which "many of whom were convinced that they were employed by the US electronics firm." The store was spotted in Kunming, Yunnan province.

"Apple never writes 'Apple Store' on its signs" illustrated in the pictures below

Here in Malaysia, there is no Apple Store available. So examples from the US are used instead. There are only some Apple's authorized reseller here (Machines, Switch, etc.). So there's no need to worry.

Although the stores are fake, their Apple products; iPhones, iPads, iPods, and a variety of computers, are genuine. The items even comes with a guarantee but no refunds are offered. People might not be too concerned about the status of the stores knowing that the product sold is original.

But from a legal point of view if the shop on Zhengyi Road isn’t authorized to sell Apple products, the manner which the products were obtained would raise complications and the retailer could be in breach of the law. Import duty could be evaded by the store if  the goods were imported from overseas. Legally, the store design itself might pose a problem since it’s a form of copyright infringement.

25/7/11 China have acted swiftly by closing some of the fake Apple store in China:
